Epiphany & the Inner West Youth Theatre’s ‘PLAY IN 5 DAYS’ holiday camps, are a fantastic training ground for young actors, singers and dancers looking for the full show experience.

Our national award winning team of industry directors offer conservatory style training in acting, singing and dancing for five full days and put up a 60 minute play, complete with your favourite Broadway songs and scenes, that cater for every performer from enthusiastic to advanced.

"What you and your team manage to present in just five days is truly staggering"

What you will get:

• 5 full days of total immersion in the rehearsal process to get the production to performance at the Friday night showcase

• The chance to make friends with like-minded theatre kids and have fun doing what you love - being part of a show.

• The chance to shine. Although everyone is encouraged to try everything, actors can focus on dramatic scenes while singers and dancers take on more featured solos and choreography.

What Are We Looking For?

• READING SKILLS: We require performers to read scripts, decipher meaning and be able to learn lines. If this is a challenge, please contact us to discuss 0422 977 692

• ACTING SKILLS: We look for performers who enjoy taking part, use their imagination, take direction and have fun exploring characterisation.

• VOCAL SKILLS: We seek out the performers who sing or harmonise to be featured, but this is not a pre-requisite to attend. With non-singers and dancers, we look for a positive attitude and willingness to try.

• CHOREOGRAPHY: We seek out the performers to be featured in dance solos and small group numbers, with non-dancers catered for in the large ensemble numbers. Again, we look for a positive attitude and willingness to try.

TUTORS

ANNA JAQUES

Anna is an experienced choreographer who has worked extensively with many dance and musical theatre schools after running her own successful performance training studio JMA in Sydney.

Anna has choreographed our county’s finest young talent for industry shows including ‘The Voice Kids’ (Channel 9) and ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ (Channel 7) and is currently teaching musical theatre classes and choreographing productions at PLC Sydney and Epiphany Youth Arts.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

On the first day, we divide kids into groups according to their age, experience and interests, with approx. 10 to 12 in each group. Each group is immediately launched into casting, and a rotation of rehearsals working with some of Sydney’s leading professional youth directors from NIDA and WAAPA and musical theatre singers and choreographers. The kids will brainstorm ideas for the plot of their play, develop the scenes, learn a song and dance routine and rehearse it all up for an incredible performance on the final night.

Epiphany Arts Youth Theatre is famous for our holiday stage camps with over 80% of kids coming back to do them again. We NEVER do the same thing twice and whether kids are starting out or experience performers, we keep them on their toes every time. It’s a HUGE amount of effort and fun and teaches kids to build character, confidence, creativity, collaboration and communication skills that are invaluable throughout life. They also make like minded friends that can last throughout the years.
